Summary: It’s been just over ten weeks since his and Da Qing’s return to the land of the living, and in that time, Shen Wei has not yet had occasion to don his robes of office in front of Shuzhi—or indeed, to conduct any Envoy business at all in his presence. He’s visited the SID once or twice on official matters, but only in Haixing clothes, and he’s been sure to keep his manner light and casual in the public areas. Formal liaising is for the privacy of Zhao Yunlan’s office.

Now, faced with the prospect of a Dixing state dinner, Shen Wei discovers he’s slipped into—not so much keeping secrets as compartmentalising. Again.

For a lot of characters, close calls are pretty common – whether they’re fighting dragons, visiting aliens, or traveling through magic wastelands, they deal with a lot of dangers. But even then, actual near-death experiences are pretty rare.

What happened? Did your characters witness some kind of afterlife, or something else entirely, or nothing at all? How did they survive?

Summary: Angel has settled in well after the death of Valentino at his hands. He is running Val’s movie empire with far more skill than anyone thought. What he wants to concentrate on now is taking the budding relationship with Husker to the next level. What he gets is someone ‘murdering’ his best stars. Death might not be permanent in hell but when his stars are torn to flinders, it’ll take them a long time to pull themselves together. It is good way to ruin his business and bring his term as an overlord to an end. With Husker, Rosie and Arackniss at his side, Angel has to track down this threat to his new empire and deal with it like his father taught him so long ago.
